Meet the Writer

L.J. Provost writes stories where life's puzzles and quiet reckonings collide. Her mystery series begins with Thistle Nook Secrets, introducing Windy Falconet — a FEMA disaster specialist with a knack for uncovering buried truths. L.J.'s poetry and short fiction explore heritage, memory, and moral turning points. Whether chasing clues or peeling back secrets, she invites readers to linger in the hush between sentences.

A book titled Thistle Nook Secrets--A Disaster Murder Mystery by L.J. Provost. A stormy sky looms over trees and bushes along a flooded street with a stop sign that barely clears the water. The quote says: The flood was a disaster. The drowning was murder.

When catastrophic flooding displaces a close-knit Nashville retirement community, FEMA specialist Windy Falconet expects hardship—not homicide. After a resident's apparent drowning is revealed to be poisoning, Windy and her colleague Parker must untangle decades of grudges, debts, and dangerous loyalties among six longtime friends.
